The very beginning

The story of PANDORA began in 1982, when a man with a vision changed the face of jewellery forever. In a small jeweller’s shop in Copenhagen, Denmark, Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie took the first steps towards their dream: To make quality jewellery accessible to women all over the world. No one could have imagined that the little shop in its modest surroundings would lead to a new era in modern jewellery.

Skilled goldsmiths and silversmiths carefully consider every facet and feature of each piece of jewellery. Genuine materials are finished by hand, combining century-old techniques with modern concepts and beautiful design.

PANDORA has an in-house team of passionate designers who dream up and bring to life each piece of unique jewellery. They pride themselves on an unfaltering commitment to creating jewellery that is both modern and classic, enabling women across the world to express their own individuality. PANDORA’s designers Lone, Lisbeth, Lee and Mads feel extremely proud to know their designs are worn daily by women who wish to share their stories and celebrate life.

The bracelet is born

A PANDORA charm bracelet is not a fashion item – it is a personally designed piece of jewellery that tells your unique story. In 1999, the iconic PANDORA bracelet concept was created. The first 15 charm designs went on sale in Denmark in 2000, and after two short months stores were nearly sold out and demanded to order more. Ten of the original charms are still part of the collection today, including the silver strawberry.

PANDORA’s passion has always been to make affordable, high-quality jewellery available to all the women of the world. After becoming a well-loved brand in Scandinavia, PANDORA started to expand internationally – first to the USA in 2003, to Australia and Germany in 2004 and to the UK in 2005. Today there are more than 10,000 PANDORA retailers in over 65 countries across six continents.
